Updates to the Rental Bonds Portal (August 2026)

Bonds with a contact email address for a tenant or lessor listed as rb@act.gov.au must be updated

Some historical bonds have an email address for a tenant or lessor listed as rb@act.gov.au. When the Rental Bonds Portal was initially implemented, this email address was assigned to bonds transferred into the portal where no email address had been provided. These bonds must be updated with the tenant or lessor’s current email address.

To assist, the Rental Bonds Portal has been updated to identify bonds with an email address of rb@act.gov.au. When updating or requesting a bond refund for one of these bonds, you will be prompted to provide the tenant's or lessor's current email address.

You will not be able to complete your bond update or refund request until the email address has been updated.

This will ensure all parties to a bond receive email notifications.
