Notice of assessment for conveyance duty – reference number correction

The ACT Revenue Office advises that on 18 August 2025, a small number of notice of assessments for conveyance duty were emailed with incorrect reference details.
The incorrect details were:
- the payment reference (this is the unique identifier used to allocate a received payment to a conveyance duty account)
- the customer reference number (CRN).
All other details in the notice of assessment, including the taxpayer details and amount due were correct.
If you were affected, we will contact you by email from duties@act.gov.au with an updated notice of assessment with corrected reference details.
When you receive this updated notice of assessment:
- pay the amount due using the payment details provided on the updated notice
- disregard the payment details on the notice issued on 18 August 2025.
If you have already made payment, please be assured that your payment has been received by the ACT Revenue Office. However, to ensure the payment is correctly allocated to your account please contact our office.
