Notify us about your land tax status
When to use this form
Use this form to notify us if:
- you own a property that is liable for land tax
- you are exempt from land tax
- you must pay (or no longer need to pay) the foreign ownership surcharge for land tax.
You must tell us within 30 days if you own a property that is liable for land tax or the foreign ownership surcharge. Whatever your situation is, penalties may apply if you do not notify us.
Information you need to complete the form
You will need to provide:
- the account number for the property
- the property’s suburb, section, block and unit (SSBU)
- details of the property owner/s.
The property details can be found on your notices for property charges or your lease transfer notification. If you do not have this information, contact us.
Additional information that may be required:
- if there is a second dwelling on your property that is rented, floor plans of the property showing the area of the second dwelling
- if you are acting as a personal representative of the owner, authorisation documents such as a letter of authority, will, probate or ASIC document.
- if you are applying for certain exemptions, any supporting documents.
