How to lodge a bond or security deposit
If a lessor or agency requests a bond or security deposit to be paid, they are required to lodge the bond or security deposit with the Rental Bonds Office. Bonds and security deposits must be lodged by a lessor within two weeks of receipt of the bond or security deposit or commencement of the tenancy. Agencies are required to lodge the bond or security deposit within four weeks of receiving the bond or security deposit, or commencement of the tenancy.
