Digital Identity Systems Phishing Scam
Please be advised that:
- There is a current phishing scam pretending to be from myGovID and involves the unauthorised use of myGovID branding.
- The scam asks the individual to click a hyperlink and provide their personal information (home address and post code).
- Scams trick individuals into paying money or giving out their personal information. Scammers often pretend to be from trusted organisations like the ATO.
- The ATO will never send individuals an email with a link to provide personal information.
- Individuals should not click on any links, open any attachments, download any files or provide any information.
- You can direct concerned or affected individuals to the ATO’s website https://www.ato.gov.au/general/online-services/identity-security-and-scams/verify-or-report-a-scam/ or ask them to call 1800 008 540.
