Barrier free

From 18 September 2017, the ACT Government is changing the way it collects conveyance duty, also known as stamp duty. The new ‘Barrier Free’ model will make the process of purchasing a home faster and simpler and applies to all transactions with an execution date on or after 18 September 2017 that are registered on the land titles register.

The ACT Revenue Office will be implementing a number of administrative arrangements to facilitate the transition to the Barrier Free model in collaboration with the Access Canberra shop front in Dickson. A new IT system will also be implemented during this time. For information on these arrangements and office shutdown periods please visit our website at https://www.revenue.act.gov.au/duties/barrierfree.
