Customer Service Centre

The ACT Revenue Office has a Customer Service Centre open to the public where enquiries can be made, documents lodged and collected, and duty Payments made. It is open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 10:30 am to 5:00 pm on Wednesday (excluding public holidays) and is located at:

Please note the following cannot be paid at the Customer Service Centre: duty on the registration or the transfer of registration of a motor vehicle can only be paid at the Motor Vehicle Registry or a government shopfront, and Rates and Land Tax Payments can be made at various places in the ACT.

Exemptions, Rebates and Deferments

You can lodge applications at the Customer Service Centre for the following which will be forwarded to the relevant area of the ACT Revenue Office:

  • Pensioner Rebates for Rates
  • Deferment of Rates Payments
  • Exemption from Land Tax on Compassionate Grounds

Most applications for exemption from duty on motor vehicle registration must be made at Canberra Connect Shopfronts. See Revenue Circular DAA009 Acrobat PDF icon (124Kb) for details.

Lodging Documents

Documents that must be stamped by the ACT Revenue Office such as a Contract for the Purchase of Property, Memorandum of Transfer, Share Transfer, Commercial Lease as well as returns for other taxes can all be taken to the Centre.

Refunds

If you think you are due a refund of an amount paid to the ACT Revenue Office you should set out the circumstances regarding this overpayment in a letter and send it to the office along with any supporting documentation, for consideration.
