Freedom of information

Under ACT freedom of information laws you have the right to access documents held by the ACT Revenue Office, which is part of the Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate.

However, most information collected by the Office is protected by secrecy provisions and ACT privacy laws. Personal information cannot be given to any third party unless authorised by law or with the consent of the person involved.

When making a freedom of information request, you must identify the documents you are seeking. You need provide as much information about the documents as possible to enable us to identify them.

Other rights

You may also have rights under other ACT laws, including ombudsman laws, and the Administrative Decisions (Judicial Review) Act 1989.
