Safer families levy

The Safer Families Levy has been established to provide community support and to raise awareness of domestic violence in the ACT Community. The ACT Government is committed to the prevention of family and domestic violence and taking action on the intolerance of this issue.

The ACT Government is committed to programs to stop family and domestic violence. Programs include:

For 2023-24, the ACT Government has increased the levy to $45 (from $40 in 2022-23). The ACT Government announced that this is part of a staged increase to the Safer Families Levy of $5 per year over four years, taking the Levy to $50 per household in 2024-25. The Levy increase will go directly to funding initiatives.

The 2021-22 Budget detailed the expanded programs that will be delivered through the increase to the Safer Families Levy.
